Start from the Connect Camera card: pair over Bluetooth and the app opens the camera's hotspot for you; scan the QR code on the camera's Wi-Fi Direct screen; or connect over your home network when camera and phone are on the same router. Recipe write, camera monitor and Recipe Lab all work over the wireless link. Verified on the α7 V and α7R V; other bodies are checked model by model, and USB always remains available.

Any Sony body whose menu has Creative Look. We have verified it on the α7 V, α7 IV, α7C II, α7CR, α7R V, α7R VI and ZV-E1. Older bodies use the previous Creative Style, whose parameters don't map across, so they can't receive recipes. If your camera isn't listed, just plug it in — the app checks after reading the camera and tells you directly, and nothing is written when it isn't supported.

AlphaLook is a parameter-notebook style app. Alpha Looks is a different naming used around Picture Profiles. Sony's Creators' App is the official companion app that delivers Sony's own creator Looks; it does not write community recipes.
